First figure of 2009 to be photographed, I was fortunate enough to get this as a Christmas present from my partner. Suiguintou is the main antagonist of the first season of Rozen Maiden, a story about hand crafted dolls which come to life in the “Alice game” to do battle with each other and obtain the right to become the most perfect girl “Alice” and meet “Father” (creator of the Rozen Maiden dolls). Suiguintou is by far the darkest Rozen Maiden doll who’s sole motivation of not being “Junk” fuels her will to win the “Alice Game”.

First days work on the new sculpting project. I opted for a humanoid type that would not require much in the way of pre-planned scaling/measurement issues. Elongated limbs and over dramatix/comic book style muscularture will be the final result.
The wire is made from standard garden wire, two strands interwoven to give rigidity for pose and ease of greenstuff application stuck down to a 40mm gaming base.
New Projects for 2009

This year I have decided to pick up my paintbrush and sculpting tools again after a 4 year break. The focus being purely on the sculpting side of things, using kneadite (green stuff). I will be charting my progress here on the blog and over time I hope to have a nice little collection of my own home brew figure sculpts. The size scales will vary but to start with I will be sticking with what I know so 30mm to 64mm will be the norm.
The nice thing about this project, is that it will provide some interesting reading while I attempt to catch up with the Anime figure photo backlog from summer ’08. I look forward to sharing my work and thoughts with everyone concerning this new venture through 2009.

Happy New Year to everyone who has been following this blog. I would like to apologise to viewers about the lack of posts since August, a number of technical hitches occured (namely a exploding laptop) which made posting a little harder then it needed to be.
So do I have any new content to add? the simple answer is YES. There are a good number of figures from Autumn 2008 that need to be reviewed and photographed for the first quarter of 2009. Among the figures being reviewed is the #13 comic version of kanu Unchou (Ikki Tousen) a truely beutiful 1/6 sculpt and a whole host of Shining Wind figures from Kotobukiya.
So Happy New year to all, I look forward to sharing more from the DiStudios collection through 2009
