With the Easter Bank holiday coming to a end I can finally relax (a little), my display cabinet project is complete (pictures up end of the week) and to celebrate the buying, building and inevitable repainting of whole room which followed I made a “few” purchases (not that I have the space to store them that is!).
On the list of figures on there way to me are a number of Queen’s Blade figures and a rather nice random figure by Volks that I won 5 minutes ago from my regular ebay seller…
Queen’s Blade is a relatively new venture for me, my first purchase being the Anne-Lotte figure by Excellent model (shipping now). This purchase urged me to do a little research into the series and I found myself watching the freshly released episode 1 of the new Queen’s Blade Anime. My verdict? risque…very risque and not for the feint hearted, its borderline soft hentai in my honest opinion with more battle clothing shredding explosions then Ikki Tousen, which is really saying something. The whole thing is based on a set of rpg style combat books which pit female contestants in battles to the death as part of a tournament dubbed “Queen’s Blade”.
Needless to say I was/am sucked in and have gone and ordered myself some of the “supporting” cast from the anime. I will cease the blabbering and get to the goodies:

Melona is the second fighter at the start of the anime and from what I could tell she is a genuine evil, weird slime shooting character in the competition, she is very…pink.

Nanael has a very comedic appearance in the anime, not sure what the point of her is but she seems to have bad things happen to her, light get hit by lightning. According to some sources she is in atonement for trying to enslave all males to do her bidding. Not quite the angelic thing she pretends to be really.

Echidna is one of the first characters I saw floating around Ebay etc. I don’t know anything about this character yet but had researched her rariety. Quite a expensive character so I dread to think how much she will fetch in just a few more years. Oh yes the watermark is the seller I purchased from on Ebay feel free to track his store down and see what he has to offer.

The above figure is meant to be a adult version of the character “Alice” (I think). I regret not picking up the original version (this is a exclusive ver) now that I am into the series/range of figures. While I am very happy to have this exlcusive on the way to me, I will keep eyes open for the original Excellent model version. After all I hate missing numbers in my collections.

Busujima from the Manga “High School of The Dead” a very entertaining story of world eaten by zombies. There is lots of gore and violence, mostly done by Busjima above, school Kendo champion if I remember correctly. This was actually a emergency purchase, the company I had place the original order with cancelled my allocation half way through last week for no apparent reason, so I had to go on the hunt. Luckily my alternative supplier had one to hand and has even already shipped it. I would of been quite annoyed not to get this figure, the cold hearted (Kanu clone anyone?) sword weilder is quickly becoming one of my favourite characters….lets see if she makes it out alive!

The figure above I just won around 15 minutes ago. I know it is quite a rare figure with prices being quite high on auction sites and I did have a bit of a battle to win this one. Luckily with postage I still got it a great deal cheaper then the other one being sold.
So quite a weekend spending spree/haul for Easter. Funny thing is with the new display cabinets up and stacked I have realised that I now need more! so what started as 2 display cabinets is probably going to be more like 4 at the start of May. All the figures above are scheduled to arrive this week and I will endeavour to get some decent reviews of them and of course some pictures for everyone’s perusal. The back log for 2008 let alone 2009 is immense but I am sure with a little bit of dedication and little less perfectionism I can get my full collection up on this blog.
Thanks for reading and happy collecting!
