Finally the greens for Soda Pop Miniatures “Kenobo Monk of Gomandi” have become available. Kenobo retains the consistent Anime sculpting style seen in earlier releases but is the first male, non humanoid character from the company. The basis of sculpt seems to be a Noh opera monk resplendent with ropes and prayer beads.

Soda Pop miniatures planned third release is this Noh inspired warrior monk Kenobo. A mercenary warrior of the faith who paints his skin with the ash of the fallen!

Once again the support art is amazing capturing the imagery of not only Anime/Manga theme but also something very different in the wargaming world. This will be the company’s first male character, it will be interesting to see if this figure will come with some form of Daemon (companion spirit). Being a sacred warrior you would expect something spiritual to tag along with it.

I have yet to receive my Malya figure (second release Relic Knight) but it is still too early to complain. It does seem that Soda Pop Miniatures is gathering a hard-core set of fans who have looked for the border between Anime and Miniature wargames. With these figures selling well, I expect it only a matter of time until we see interest of  at least a skirmish rule set. Until then I am sure fans will be more than happy to stare at Gonzalo’s stunning artwork and figures of cute Anime girls bending over things (?!).

Big update for this week as lots of different things from my many hobbies have/are scheduled to arrive today. Lots of these things were early pre-orders and others just random purchases such as the wargaming miniatures.
