hakufu-grab-kanuGreetings all, this weeks round up is a bit more discreet then the last weekend. I am awaiting on 2 orders from sellers I am not too familiar with and as a result I am a little apprehensive. I will keep a open mind however as situations are variable across the board. This week 2 very nice figures arrived on my doorstep, from Queen’s Gate Rebellion Annelotte and Nanbu Kaguya by Volks.

hakufu-grab-kanuGood news! new toys have arrived today in the form of Queen’s Blade, Queen’s Gate and High School of the Dead. The figures arrived from Toyslogic (US) and my regular ebay store Wolala1971 (probably the best Ebay Anime figure store I have ever shopped with), these two suppliers have been a staple for me since last year and I would highly recommend either of them as a port of call when tracking down pre-orders and some of the rarer figure releases.

hakufu-grab-kanuAs promised from over the bank holiday weekend, here are the photos of my newly installed cabinets. These are the Detolf range from Ikea (a popular and cost effective choice for starters), and are the stock cabinets with no lights installed (yet). Figure wise, a big box arrived this morning and fingers crossed I will get those photos up later on. naturally all the figures that arrived will be getting a full photo shoot but that will probably be towards the end of the month once my final move is finally over and done with.

hakufu-grab-kanuWith the Easter Bank holiday coming to a end I can finally relax (a little), my display cabinet project is complete (pictures up end of the week) and to celebrate the buying, building and inevitable repainting of whole room which followed I made a “few” purchases (not that I have the space to store them that is!).

On the list of figures on there way to me are a number of Queen’s Blade figures and a rather nice random figure by Volks that I won 5 minutes ago from my regular ebay seller…

hakufu-grab-kanuHappy Easter all and what a busy one its turning out to be! The display cabinets have now been built and as a strange turn of events I even re-painted my room! The figures will start to go into the cabinets tomorrow and possibly Monday, once this is done photos of the new setup will be posted here. The lighting solution will probably occur at the end of the month as a number of very nice purchases from Queen’s Blade will be shipping in the upcoming weeks.

A number of changes have been made to the site. Firstly the removal of the Pre-Orders page, necessary as I do not have the time to update everything and with of the links leading to sold out items, its proving more a chore then a joy. To replace it, I now have a new tracker at the bttom of the About page, which will show you the figures I should be getting in the following months. The tracker belongs to a great site called Tsuki-Board.net and I urge all anime figure collectors to sign up and use the online database.

Till next time

hakufu-grab-kanuIn a follow up to yesterdays post, I have narrowed my options in regards to display cabinets. In a perfect world, I would have the space, time and finances to set up a retail/museum set-up. In reality however paying upwards of £600 for a medium sized display cabinet is unrealistic for now for my needs.

hakufu-grab-kanuEvery toy/figure collector knows the pain of making that decision…should I or shouldn’t open that box. We spend hours and $/£ every month to satisfy our craving for cool collectibles and its get to a point where just looking at them through a plastic pane becomes too much. As a collector there are two questions that are always asked and almost robotically answered when questioned by your peers who don’t understand your “fetish” for plastic girls/boys/robots/cars etc:
