In tribute to the fact that Max Factory will be releasing another great Vocaloid figure, I have decided to share another of my favourite Vocaloid tracks that I stumbled on.

“Gravity” has faster dance beats compared to “Silence” but retains some of the ambient feel through to ghostly vocals in the first minute which follow through to piano. Its a great combination of acoustic highs and lows which brings me back to listen to this song over and over again.

Its been a tough week for my family and me resulting in a lack of Anime news. Word has come through that Max Factory’s Yoko Real version is being delayed to the end of February, which is a little annoying but at this stage a little expected. I suppose the sting of the Yoko delay was tempered by the arrival of Chua Churam probably one of the cutest vampire characters I have seen!

Also I place my order for Max factory’s Kagamine Rin, number 2 in the NuclearFusion Vocaloid range.

"Following Miku in terms of outstanding design"

Now considering that Miku is also due this year, I have to say that I appreciate the direction of the these Vocaloid figures. Given Max Factory’s record of producing outstanding figures, the Rin follows suit by having a stunningly designed base. The coloured discs are a fantastic addition giving a whole myriad of colours to this figure. This one went on the pre-order list last night and if Max Factory continue to raise the bar of direction and design, I am will be sure to buy any others that follow.

Volcaoid Kagamine Rin is available from Playasia.com (see affiliate bar) priced $109.90 and ships August this year.

Amidst the sounds of blaring guitars and thumping drums you can hear the occasional dance Japanese tracks quietly playing…Hitomi Shimatani is one of those artists that you are more than likely to hear! As a taster I have included the video for one of my favourite tracks called “Falco”.

I first encountered Hitomi’s music last year through the track “Perseus” an interesting track blending high paced dance beats with J-Pop vocals. While I will not pretend to be up to date on the J-Pop scene I still to this day enjoy Hitomi’s music.

On the 29th of January, a new album is coming out titled Otoko Uta II – 20 seiki Nostalgia. Priced at $18.90 I have pre-ordered this album from Playasia.com (see affiliate bar).

**Friday the 22nd of January was my 29th birthday! **

This weekend was went by so quickly with barely any time for Anime goodness, BUT despite the celebrations I did manage to sneak in just a little amount of Otaku goodness.聽 On Friday before heading out I finally finished one of my Detolf cabinet upgrades, this includes lights, dust proofing and cable management. I will be sure to add comparison pictures and will be discussing the pro’s and cons of upgrading the Detolf when compared to just purchasing a custom cabinet.

For those interested in what I did for my birthday please feel free to read on…

In my bid to keep this year’s promise to finish figure sets, I found and bought Queen’s Blade Menace by Megahouse. I had missed the pre-order in 2009 so was glad to find it for a not too inflated price. From the photos is does look like a great figure with a high kicking, pantsu shot like Yamato’s Battle version Hakufu, what marks this figure apart from the rest (mush like the rest of Megahouse’s Queen’s Blade range) are the details like the Egyptian themed headdress, jewelry and flowing robes.

"Despite the regal appearance...we spot blue/white striped pantsu"

The figure was bought via ebay continuing my trend of buying roulette, but from a seller I have used many times in the last 2+ years so I am confident that not only will the figure arrive but also it will be genuine and free from defect (touch wood). So the check list for Megahouse’s Queen’s Blade goes down, I am not quite sure how many more I am missing but I estimate around 4-5 figures (mainly the older ones) but with re-releases appearing on web stores I don’t think I will have too many problems compiling the remains.

It has been a fairly annoying week in all honesty. As if stress at work was not enough, my hobby life has taken a turn for the worse too. As regular readers are aware, I found Chua Churam for a price within my budget, the seller was very quick to take the money and messages was pretty consistent, I paid for EMS etc and by my accounts all things were settled. What I did find interesting is that this seller did have some negative feedback about lost items, with the excuse being “EMS not selected not our responsibility” so I am glad that I do have email verification of EMS selection should the time come for Paypal help. Perhaps I am being impatient but I am a little weary of people who take up to a week to post, it’s usually the first sign that the item advertised was never in possession in the first place.

"Make of this picture what you will..."

As some of you know, there has been a bit of Vocaloid fever this end of the blog, especially with the purchase of Black*Rock Shooter. As promised here is currently my favourite Vocaloid track.

The ambient dance beats of “Silence” have made this particular Vocaloid very popular. I have been playing this track early morning before I go to work and after stressful days due to cool relaxing beats and the soft lyrics of Miku.

The running Miku in the Pov is strangely hypnotic @_@
