First photo-shoot of 2010 and also since summer last year! This figure was very hot on collectors list in 2008 and it is easy to see why late comers are paying inflated prices to get her today. I was quite surprised to find out that his character is actually from a hentai game, which I did not expect. I have yet to find anything about an Anime but would speculate that if one is produced it would (at the very least) be a Harem, ecchi comedy or more likely a comedy hentai. Below is the opening track for Chu X Chu.
Regardless of the character origins, Alter have produced yet another figure that is accessible to the general collecting market, Chua Churam is beautiful designed with a subtle pink dress, custom base and of course electric guitar. It is upon closer inspection that you can see the stunning range of details sculpted on this figure; translucent rose shaped headbands, the wavy hair and bat winged guitar add so much character to this piece.
The flowing dress gives a fantastic sense of movement to the figure but also functions as a support structure of the main pin that fixes the figure to its base, which I need to point out is a really good way of supporting a figure and leaves the collector little worry about Chua Churam suffering from lean. There have been plenty of fantastic figures that have been marred but poor base design, which have led to excessive lean or in the worse case scenario peg breaks. With this design the figure has a levitating feel to it, perfect for our little vampire idol.
The dress details can easily seen from the back of the of the figure, each fold and tress have been excellently sculpted to produce a very realistic look to Chua Churam’s clothing. From my private sculpting experiences (and finding out how hard it really is!) I have to respect the time and ability gone into producing the outfit.
As I am sure readers will see these photos have been altered a little, as I stated in January my primary focus would be to get more photos of better quality and interest on the blog and I have to say, this has not been easy. My indoor photography set-up produced some pretty bad photos, the original light used was too yellow and these were taken under such poor lighting that the above were actually taken with flash. After a little clean up and play around on the Mac, I was able to produce the photos above and I am confident that I can make up for my poor photo taking with a little graphic tweaking.
I hope readers enjoy the new photo direction!
