The problem with figure collecting, is that it can be random…Otaku’s around the world eagerly plan release’s around financial/holiday/general plans that will ensure that the figures they want arrive when it is most convenient (Or is that just me ^_-). There is nothing worse than an item arriving outside of your monthly budget plan resulting in the much dreaded “Credit Card declined” scenario. On the reverse side, something just as worse is the barren period. I refer to a period where figures have been delayed time and again creating months with no haul at all…There’s nothing worse (in my case) than getting the shivers waiting for my latest haul.
And this is the current state of play that I am in right, the 9th level of figure collecting hell…waiting for items that have been delayed 3 months in a row now. The solution? Random purchases within ones budget, however you need to make sure these are relevant purchase as buying for the sake of buying is not a good financial or space management idea. I am in the situation where I still have a number of figure collections missing items and these help me focus my already planned budget into finishing collections that have already been started. Almost as satisfying as a new product, is an existing product you needed to finish a set 🙂
So next time you get the collecting sweats, have a good look at your collection and try to fill those figure gaps!
