Not exactly current news but new to me hehe I noticed on my holiday that there is a surge K-Pop artist sweeping Asia’s Cd charts leaving only the most popular of J-Pop artists on the shelf (ie Utada Hikaru – the only one I could find in almost all the stores). I can pretty attribute the success to the Wonder Girls and this track – “Nobody” which has even made a mark in the U.S.

It is a very amusing video and catchy Pop song with a lively backing track and easy to remember chorus. A lot more hyper than I am use to but in the end I did enjoy it. I am getting hold of more of the Wonder Girls stuff to compare how this track stands with the rest of their music.

I finally swallowed my words and bought into Infinity Miniatures, Anime styled sci-fi wargame which in recent months has produced some truly beautiful miniatures. I instantly fell in love with the ALEPH which is humanities world computer that has manifested its own armed forces. The story is every bit of Masume Shirow’s Appleseed crossed with Ghost in the Shell and I for one and in favour of it.

Last night the intended photos of the Satsuriku No Jango range went very well and I even began editing! Compared to yesterdays “This weeks plan” I may space out the photos over the next three days so readers have an excuse to come back and look 😉

Also new projects ahoy! Some readers may have noticed that I have a very small collection of miniatures on this site, these are very old projects from some 2-3 years ago and the page has been some what silent since. But no longer! last night I dug out a box of bits and started feverishly working on a new project, below is a sneak preview at the them.

Figures are built and I hope to have photos up next week in the miniature gallery section. I look forward to sharing this unique form of art with everyone after so long away from the painting table, however priorities are priorities and next week looks to be a good haul of Anime related goodness!

The Satsuriku No Jango photo shoot is well underway but I doubt it will be worthwhile posting today around mid night so expect three sets of photographs for tomorrow afternoon instead!

Maid Sama is a new Anime series I encountered while on holiday, luckily for me episode 1 was being premiered so as far as I know this is a completely fresh Anime series. Maids, romance, comedy and probably tears! what more could you wish for ^_^

Enjoy the video, onwards with the photos!

I have pretty much settled back into normal life this week watching lots of Anime and listening to J-Pop. There is only one thing amiss and that is photos! Tonight the plan is to get the remaining Saturiku No Jango figures photographed and on the site, nothing too fancy probably just blue background to match Franco II Nero. It would be nice to say tonight or tomorrow “Hey look full set!” as the Jango range is probably one of the only figure series I managed to get all of in 2008/2009.

"Must...have...Toys!"

4 emails later and a private message, and there is still no news concerning my Orchid Seed – Seena Kanon (which I have already paid for 7 weeks ago) and the ever elusive Gurren Lagann Yoko Real Version figure (does anyone actually own this figure?!). I find the lack of response unprofessional and all too regular a occurence, it is a shame but I have to say that this year will be the last year I use that company.

So fingers crossed for some eye candy later this evening!

Eternal Alice or “Kagihime Monogatari” is one of the Anime series I encountered while on holiday. I only caught episode 1 but have since ordered the dvd, the theme being Alice in Wonderland. This show is featuring on Asia Animax along with a whole host of other Anime including the new Maid Sama series which premiered last week, if Europe was to get access to this channel I am sure Anime fans would rejoice to no end :3

Once the dvd arrives and I have watched all the episodes I will be sure to review.

Ok suffering from severe jet lag as I run down the last few hours of work so please forgive any grammatical atrocities 😉

My holiday yielded little in the form of Anime purchases, having settled on some “How to draw Manga” books and numerous J-Pop cd’s so it was nice to come home to a box of unopened toys. Inside were Queen’s Blade: Shizuka and Katsukabe Saki. (more…)
